Accessibility Statement

Fotkaplus Photography is committed to making our website and studio services accessible to everyone, regardless of ability or the technology they use.

Last updated: 30 March 2026

Our Commitment

Fotkaplus Photography is committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We want all visitors to be able to browse our site, learn about our services, and book a session with ease, regardless of ability or the technology they use.

Standards We Follow

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines are the internationally recognised standard for web accessibility and cover a wide range of recommendations for making web content more accessible to people with visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive disabilities.

What We Have Done

We have taken the following steps to improve the accessibility of our website:

  • Semantic HTML: our website is built with meaningful, structured HTML to ensure that assistive technologies such as screen readers can interpret the content correctly.
  • Keyboard navigation: all interactive elements, including navigation menus, links, buttons, and forms, can be accessed and operated using a keyboard alone.
  • Alt text for images: we provide descriptive alternative text for all meaningful images so that their content can be conveyed to users who cannot see them.
  • Colour contrast: we have selected colour combinations that meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast requirements to ensure readability for users with low vision or colour vision deficiencies.
  • Responsive design: our website adapts to different screen sizes and devices, including mobile phones and tablets, to provide a consistent experience across platforms.
  • Focus indicators: visible focus indicators are provided for interactive elements to support keyboard and assistive technology users.
  • Text resizing: the website supports browser-level text resizing without loss of content or functionality.
  • Dark mode support: our website offers a dark mode option to reduce eye strain and improve readability in low-light environments.

Known Limitations

While we strive for full accessibility, we are aware of the following areas where improvements may still be needed:

  • Third-party embedded content: our booking calendar and gift voucher purchase widget are provided by Timely, a third-party service. While we have selected a provider that aims to meet accessibility standards, we cannot fully control the accessibility of their embedded content. If you experience difficulty using the booking widget, please contact us directly and we will be happy to assist you with your booking by telephone or email.
  • Instagram feed: embedded Instagram content on our homepage is provided by a third-party integration and may not be fully accessible to all users. The same content is available directly on our Instagram profile.
  • PDF documents: if we provide any downloadable PDF documents in the future, we will aim to make them accessible. If you encounter a PDF that is not accessible, please contact us and we will provide the information in an alternative format.

Accessibility at Our Studio

Our commitment to accessibility extends beyond our website to our physical studio:

  • Location: our studio at 13 South Charlotte Street, Edinburgh, is located in the city centre with nearby public transport links.
  • Studio access: if you have specific mobility requirements or access needs, please let us know at the time of booking so that we can make appropriate arrangements for your visit.
  • Communication: we are happy to accommodate alternative communication needs. Please contact us in advance so we can prepare.
  • Session adaptations: our photographers are experienced in adapting sessions to suit clients of all abilities, ages, and comfort levels. Your session will be tailored to you.

Feedback and Contact

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of our website and our studio. If you encounter any barriers, have suggestions for improvement, or need information in an alternative format, please get in touch:

We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 5 working days.

Continuous Improvement

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We regularly review our website and update our practices as standards evolve and new tools become available. This statement will be updated as we make further improvements.
